The Medellin Part 5

Ich bin der Hammer, der Dolch, die Sichel, die alles niedermaht. Totentanz repeated his personal mantra to himself as he slew a second of the drug lord’s novas before he could finish his speech.
“We were the ones that hired you!” cried Lehrder, “You’ve walked right into my trap.”
“Yo, we know,” replied Pig Iron. Not very eloquent, but his raw power could not be denied.
Totentanz and Pig Iron began the battle in earnest. The drug cartel’s novas were too raw, and the hired mercenaries now too scared to put up much of a fight. Even with the odds at 3 to 1 before counting the remaining baselines, the two hardened elites wouldn’t have much trouble here. Hopefully Violet Lotus was learning something on her first mission; at least she had managed to not get herself killed.
Following their orders, they allowed those that fled to escape. The survivors would spread their fear to their companions. As would Gaal and Najarian, the two cameramen in invisibility suits that Violet had dropped off with Totentanz. They had jumped at the chance to film something that Utopia wouldn’t get to edit first. After seeing it, no one would be foolish enough to try and trick DeVries again for some time.

The Medellin Part 4

Wilhelm Peron Lehrder smiled cruelly as he watched the large DeVries nova crushing a jeep. The fool had no idea what he was in for. The outlying forces were just there to soften him up before Lehrder and his novas made an example of him. DeVries had taken too many jobs from the Mega-Syndicate to meddle in Medellin business. Now the Medellin had hired them, pretending to be the syndicate, in order to ambush them and set an example. Lehrder had even hired some elites from rival companies to ensure his victory. He looked at the novas present; they all seemed ready. Time to make a dramatic entrance, and then Kill Pig Iron and Violet Lotus. No use in going through the effort of killing them without explaining the error of their ways.

The Medellin Part 3

Pig Iron looked around as he lifted one of the tanks off the ground. Most of the baseline resistance had been neutralized. Nothing here was able to pierce his force field. Most of the novas has marshaled together with the leader of the Medellin, in the main building. They would probably attack in force, maybe after an annoying dramatic speech. The fiery nova who had stayed to fight was getting frustrated and getting sloppy, burning some of his own force. Pig Iron waited till he looked tired before tossing the tank at him. To his credit he slagged most of it, before a chunk slammed into his head. The snipers seemed to have given up, or maybe Vi was getting more involved than she had planned. Pig Iron began demolishing the remaining vehicles and knocked over the garage while he waited for the novas. “Get on it with it already,” he thought. Shortly after they exited dramatically from the main building.

The Medellin Part 2

Violet Lotus surveyed the scene before her as she listened to Pig Iron's report. She'd scanned the area with her powers before they came, but Pig Iron's information could only be obtained once they were on site. She looked down from their viewpoint wondering what it must be like to see through his mask. From here she could only make out a few buildings between the darkness and trees.
“Fifty men, most are armed with assault rifles,” Pig Iron reported in a serious tone. “They got a bunch of jeeps, 2 tanks and a chopper, and a bunch of novas, at least four. One in that side building, I think he heals fast. One in the garage weighs as much as a tank. Our target is in the main building. Three with him, judging by infrared, one’s head is on fire, another is fading in and out at this range, probably some kind of sneak. I got nothing on the third.”
50+ baselines, and armor, she was used to dealing with that, but this was the first time against so many novas. Bravery was supposed to be going in even though you're scared, right? And Pig Iron didn't even seem phased. Just like she remembered him.
"I’ll take out the chopper first, try to cut off escape. Keep your head down, babe, there’s gonna be a lotta lead flying." Pig Iron crouched down then hurled himself into the air with a wide arc. Violet knew Pig Iron’s jump would land on target, and that would be the last of the helicopter, but she couldn’t help but worry about how many novas were really there. She thought briefly of somewhere else, and vanished.

The Medellin Part 1

Pig Iron looked at himself in the mirror as he checked his armor one last time. It was only a small layer of defense for him, but every bit might help. He looked past himself at Violet Lotus behind him, also getting ready.
“Yo Vi, you sure you’re ready for dis?”
Vi looked at him while tightening her mask. “I’m not really sure. I never thought this is where I would be.”
“This ain’t so bad, ya know, just a bunch of drug pushers.”
“You’re right, how bad can it be?”
“You’ll do fine babe, I got your back, you got mine.”
“I think I’m ready.”
“Let’s do it.”
Pig Iron watched as Vi used her powers to open the portal that would take them to the staging area. The same power that would take them to tonight’s job.
